Bringing the Colours of Autumn Into Your Home

Bringing the Colours of Autumn Into Your Home

Autumn has a funny way of sneaking up on us. One minute it’s all about summer sunshine and light, airy spaces. The next, there’s a little nip in the air, the evenings get shorter, and suddenly we’re craving cosier corners and warm, earthy colours. It’s the season of transition, and I absolutely love it.

Framing is one of my favourite ways to celebrate these seasonal changes. Not only does it let you showcase memories and artwork, but the right frame can really bring a room to life. Let Bellefield Design help you with your Autumn Decor.

Embracing September’s Natural Palette

Autumn is full of inspiration. Think russet reds, golden yellows, deep greens, and soft, misty greys. These colours are all around us in nature, and they can transform a room with just a few small changes. You don’t need a full interior makeover to reflect the season. Even just subtle touches. Such as a throw pillow, a candle, or a few small décor items. These can bring that autumnal warmth indoors. And this is where framing comes in beautifully.

Bring Nature Indoors Through Framing

September gives us plenty of little treasures that are perfect for framing: Pressed leaves and flowers from walks in the park or countryside. Seasonal photography is great! Whether it’s misty mornings, golden sunsets, or a favourite outdoor moment. I love swapping some of my framed pieces out for the changing season. Artwork inspired by the season is always a great touch too.

Framing these items doesn’t just protect them, it transforms them. It turns a simple leaf or a snapshot into a piece of décor that adds character and warmth to your home.

Choosing Frames That Complement the Season

The frame itself is just as important as what’s inside it. Here are a few ideas to complement September’s natural palette:

  • Natural woods like oak or walnut bring out the earthy tones of autumn
  • Brushed golds add a subtle warmth without being overpowering
  • Deep blacks or muted neutrals create contrast and make colours pop

Even swapping out a few frames on a gallery wall or creating a small seasonal display can completely change the feel of a room. It’s much easier than redecorating from scratch. And you can just store them away until the next year.

Personal Touches Make the Difference

One of the best things about framing is how personal it can be, wouldn’t you agree? So, why not showcase: Your child’s autumn artwork. Maybe they did something in school. Or ask them to paint something for each season and then you could swap it out.  An Autumnal photo from a woodland walk or family outing. Or a seasonal quote or print that makes you smile, these are always very aesthetically pleasing we think.

These touches make a home feel lived-in, cosy, and entirely yours. Autumn is the perfect excuse to pause, notice the beauty around us, and bring a little of it inside.

Small Changes, Big Impact

You don’t need to overhaul your home to welcome the new season. Too much can look cluttered. Framing is a simple, beautiful way to update a space, reflect the colours of autumn, and celebrate the little moments that make life special.

Whether it’s a memory, a seasonal leaf, or a piece of artwork that caught your eye, framing allows you to enjoy it every day! And really, it makes your home feel a little warmer, cozier, and more connected to the season.

Bring September Home

So, why not take a moment this September to look around your home and notice what could use a little seasonal lift? Maybe it’s a photo, a print, or even a piece of nature that inspires you. Pop it into a frame that complements your autumn palette, and suddenly, your space feels ready for the season. Come in to Bellefield Design and we can help you choose the perfect frame.

Framing isn’t just about decoration, it’s about capturing moments, celebrating nature, and making your home feel like you. And with Autumns beautiful colours, there’s never been a better time to do just that.
