Astro Active Centre Hosts Wexford Energy Expo 2026

Astro Active Centre was delighted to recently welcome the Wexford Energy Expo – Enniscorthy DZ Energy & EV Expo to our community centre in Bellefield, Enniscorthy, for a fantastic day of information, learning and community engagement. Held on Thursday, 22nd October 2026, the free event attracted almost 200 visitors, bringing together homeowners, businesses, energy experts and local organisations to explore practical ways to reduce energy costs, improve energy efficiency and make more sustainable choices.

Organised by Wexford County Council’s Climate Action Team, with support from Enniscorthy Municipal District, this was the first time the Energy Expo had been held in Enniscorthy, and we were delighted that Astro Active Centre was chosen to host such an important event.

A Day of Learning, Advice and Inspiration

With around 30 exhibitors in attendance, there was plenty for visitors to discover throughout the day. From home insulation and retrofit grants to electric vehicles, renewable energy and business energy efficiency, the Expo offered practical advice and expert guidance all under one roof. A packed programme of panel discussions and information sessions gave visitors the opportunity to hear from industry specialists, local businesses and homeowners who shared their own experiences.

Some of the day’s highlights included discussions on choosing the right electric vehicle, reducing energy costs for businesses, improving home energy efficiency and learning more about air quality in Enniscorthy. Visitors also had the opportunity to access one-to-one advice through the Energy Clinic, helping them better understand their own energy use and the options available to them.

It was wonderful to see such strong interest from the local community, with audiences engaging in the discussions, asking questions and taking away valuable information.

A Great Event for Enniscorthy

The Expo was officially opened by Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council, Cllr Lisa McDonald, and Cathaoirleach of Enniscorthy Municipal District, Cllr Pat Kehoe. The fantastic turnout of almost 200 people demonstrated just how much interest there is locally in making more energy-efficient choices and finding practical ways to reduce household and business costs.

Wexford County Council has already confirmed plans to hold another Energy Expo in spring 2027, building on the success of this year’s event.
