Wednesday 28th May, Reach Ability proudly welcomed visitors to our InTuition Vocational Training Open Evening, a heartfelt and inspiring event showcasing the incredible work, progress, and potential of our learners.
A Warm Welcome & Meaningful Conversations
The evening began with a casual Meet & Greet, where attendees were welcomed with tea, coffee, and light refreshments. Our tutors Des, Michelle & Fran were on hand to introduce visitors to the InTuition programme and answer any questions throughout the night. Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to browse sample folders of work completed by learners. Each thoughtfully displayed with permission. These pieces highlighted the diversity of learning styles and talents across the programme. Several learners were also present to chat with visitors. They were offering first-hand perspectives on life within the InTuition programme. They were also answering questions with enthusiasm and pride.
Presentations That Inspired
As guests arrived, a rolling presentation led by Des and Fran ensured everyone had a chance to learn about the mission and impact of InTuition. This flexible, visitor-led format allowed guests to engage in a way that suited their pace. One of the evening’s highlights was a powerful testimonial by current learner Emma Larkin, who spoke openly and passionately about her experience with the programme, offering real insight into the confidence and skills she has gained.
Gaisce Bronze Awards
A proud moment came during the presentation of the Bronze Gaisce Awards, led by Jacqui Murphy, Day Services and Residential Manager. Eight of our learners were recognised for their commitment, effort, and personal development. It was a celebration of perseverance and purpose. Well done everyone! Such an amazing achievement.
A Look Ahead, Celebrating 50 Years of Reach Ability
To close the formal portion of the evening, CEO Trevor Jacob introduced the upcoming 50th anniversary celebrations of Reach Ability. His words reminded us of just how far we’ve come as an organisation, and how bright the future looks for our community.
